Fury to return to USA to face Wallin… who has 700 Twitter followers

Unbeaten but unknown… Tyson Fury announces his next opponent as Otto Wallin – a little-known Swede with just 700 Twitter followers!

  • Tyson Fury will make third appearance in United States with T-Mobile Arena bout
  • Gypsy King faces unbeaten but barely-known Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin
  • Wallin had fewer than 700 Twitter followers as fight was announced

Tyson Fury’s third coming to America will take place in Las Vegas on September 14.

The Gypsy King will face unbeaten but barely-known Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin at the T-Mobile Arena in what is expected to be a repeat of his quick-fire KO of the equally unheralded German Tom Schwarz in Vegas earlier this summer.

Fury hit the US running last winter with his epic draw against WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in Los Angeles

Tyson Fury will make third appearance in the United States to take on Otto Wallin

Fury previously defeated Tom Schwarz of Germany in Las Vegas back in June

The two Barnum and Bailey acts in Vegas have been designed to prime American audiences for a blockbuster rematch with Wilder in the new year, probably back in Sin City.

Fury’s $80 million paymasters, the US cable network giant ESPN, are believed to have agreed to. Schwarz and Wallin as low profile opponents on condition that they were both ranked in the top ten by at least one of the alpha belt bodies – and with the stipulation that Fury fights Wilder next.

He made a bigger impact outside the ring at the time of the Schwarz fight with his huge personality and the back story of his mental health crusade.

Despite being unbeaten, Wallin has a small profile on social media with just 700 Twitter followers, Fury meanwhile can boast well over a million on his account

Promoters Bob Arum and Frank Warren would be pleasantly surprised if Fury v Wallin could sell out the big arena, even though fight fans are usually among the crowds who flock to Vegas on Mexico Independence holiday weekend.

But the selling of Fury in America will continue with major network chat show appearances in the coming weeks.

*Fury v Wallin be televised live on BT Sport late on Saturday night September 14.
