All of baseball’s brightest stars will be in one place on Tuesday when the American League and National League’s best face off against each other in the 2019 MLB All-Star Game from Cleveland.
It doesn’t count toward home field advantage in the World Series anymore, but that doesn’t take away from the allure of the game. It truly pits the best of the best against one another and presents the rare opportunity to see elite matchups like NL Cy Young contender Hyun-Jin Ryu pitch to AL MVP candidate Mike Trout and NL stars Cody Bellinger and Christian Yelich battle the best pitching the AL has to offer.
The AL reigned supreme for the sixth consecutive time last year with an 8-6 10-inning victory. 10 total home runs were hit in the game, with Astros third baseman Alex Bregman taking home game MVP.
One big rule change this year is that a runner will start at second base to begin the 10th and any subsequent extra inning.
Below is a full rundown of how to watch the midsummer classic, as well as the starting lineups and reserves for both teams so that you’re fully covered by the start of the game.
