‘Put a lid on it’: Red Bull reveal Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly’s new helmets for new season

Red Bull are set to unveil their new car for the upcoming Formula One season on Wednesday but they have revealed the helmets their drivers will wear.
Max Verstappen will wear a predominantly white lid while Pierre Gasly will sport a helmet that is mainly red with the logo of the energy drink’s manufacturer on the front and side of both.
Compared to the helmets worn by Daniel Ricciardo and Verstappen last season there is very little blue on the new lids.

‘It’s a bit different compared the previous years,’ Verstappen told the constructor’s official website.
‘As you can see a lot more white, it’s looking a lot more fresh I think in general.
‘I think it looks very aggressive and a completely different look for me it’s going to be this year so I’m actually excited to get started with this helmet.’

Verstappen’s helmet still features a lion and the No 33 but he has also added gold to the design.

Red Bull revealed both new helmets on their Instagram page on Thursday with the caption: ‘Put a lid on it,’ alongside Gasly’s.
Verstappen finished fourth in last year’s championship following an error-prone start.
The opening winter test in Barcelona takes place on February 18 with the season starting one month later in Melbourne.
