Katie Boulter has seen enough of her boyfriend Alex de Minaur playing against Andy Murray after the pair met again in the first round of the Paris Masters. The 27-year-old has been in a relationship with De Minaur for over two years but grew up supporting Murray, who faced the Aussie in the French capital on Monday.

De Minaur managed to beat Murray in three sets to book his place in the second round, where he will face qualifier Dusan Lajovic. The result extended his impressive record over the two-time Wimbledon champion to six victories without tasting defeat, with four of those wins coming in the last 12 months.

Boulter took to X, formerly Twitter, after the match to jokingly call for an end to the rivalry as she wrote: “Had enough Alex and Andy for the rest of my life. No more please and thank you.”

Murray took the first set against De Minaur but was unable to prevent his opponent from fighting back to secure another impressive win over his British rival. It provoked a furious reaction from Murray, who smashed his racket into the ground on two occasions after watching a forehand effort clip the net and land on his side of the court.

He later admitted that his love for tennis is waning as he approaches the end of a difficult year, saying: “The last five, six months haven’t been that enjoyable so I need to try and find some of that enjoyment back because playing a match like that there’s not much positivity there.

“When I play a good point, I’m not really getting behind myself in the important moments, that will to win and fight that has always been a big part of my game. What happened today, I don’t remember it happening before, that’s not really me. I haven’t felt good about my game for large parts of this year.”
