The Animal made his in-ring return at WrestleMania 35 where he lost a No Holds Barred Match to his former Evolution mentor Triple H.
It was later reported that this was the six-time world champion’s last ever match and that he will now concentrate on his growing acting career in Hollywood.
The ex-WWE Champion confirmed that this is a “real wrestling retirement” but isn’t ruling out a possible special guest appearance as long as it is in WWE and doesn’t include him competing in the ring.
The 50-year-old wrestler-turned-actor is determined to follow through to his promise even if that means going broke.
This is a real wrestling retirement
Batista told Chris Van Vliet: “This is a real wrestling retirement.
“I am done.
“My in-ring career is over.
“I would love to go back on the show because I love the company and I believe in the product so I would go back and go on the show.
“If they ask me to go in the Hall of Fame I will.
“But I will not have another wrestling match.
“I will go broke before I have another wrestling match and I will not go and wrestle for another promotion.”
Batista has built an impressive acting career that sees him performing under his real name Dave Bautista.
Bautista met success after being cast as Drax The Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
That in turn led to more blockbuster hits like Avengers: Infinity War, Spectre and Blade Runner 2049.
