Andy Ruiz Jr has finally broken his silence on social media after Anthony Joshua announced their rematch would take place in Saudi Arabia in December.
Joshua and his team made the announcement last Friday, but neither Ruiz Jr or his camp have made any official comment on the fight or joined in with the promotion.
Ruiz Jr’s trainer hinted on Sunday the heavyweight champion was yet to sign off on the Saudi Arabia clash, and the Mexican seems to have now dropped a hint about the fight on his Instagram.
The WBA (Super), WBO and IBF champion appeared to send a message to Joshua by hinting he was ready to fight anywhere.
He said: ‘Ready for anything that come my way, you can’t scare me with a good time.
‘Blessing to all my people, fans, family, everyone that has God in their heart, much love and remember dreams come true.’
Ruiz Jr wanted the second fight to happen in New York again or in Mexico, but Joshua has always insisted it was his call where the rematch took place.
Cardiff’s Principality Stadium was the clear frontrunner before Saudi Arabia entered the mix with a huge money offer.
Despite concerns about the country’s human rights record and backlash against Amir Khan’s decision to fight there this summer, Team AJ accepted the big-money deal.
It is reported it will cost Saudi Arabian backers £83million to bring Ruiz-Joshua II to Diriyah on December 7.
Joshua’s first encounter with Ruiz Jr produced one of the biggest shocks in heavyweight history as the little-known underdog knocked out the reigning champion.
The rematch is set to be the biggest fight of 2019, but it remains to be seen how many fans will travel to Saudi Arabia to watch the contest and what the local interest will be.
While fans wait to hear official word from Ruiz Jr, both heavyweights appear determined to slim down for their second clash.
Ruiz Jr vowed to lose weight after being labelled ‘fat’ by his rivals, while Joshua looks visibly trimmer and carrying less muscle in recent glimpses into his training.
