Archie Sharp will be sharing a hotel with Carl Frampton next week – and he will tell him he wants to share a ring with him soon.

The rising super-featherweight ace takes on Jeff Ofori on the undercard of Frampton's return next Saturday night at BT Sport Studios in Stratford.

Unbeaten Sharp, 25, knows his 19th career win will keep him well placed in the WBO rankings at 9st 4lbs.

And with Belfast boxer Frampton due to face Jamel Herring later this year for the WBO title then Sharp wants to be his first defence.

The pair will be down the hall this weekend at the fight hotel in quarantine ahead of Frank Warren's latest behind-closed-doors fight card and Sharp said: “I just want to fight for the WBO title, whoever has got it.

“But for sure I want to fight Frampton. I sparred with him when I was young, coming up and to share the ring with him would be amazing.

“For sure, it will be spoken about next week.

“I believe in my ability. I want my name out there and I need these big names. That would put me on the map.”

The slick Londoner is not short of confidence or moves when he is in the ring and he is starting to get noticed as a promising prospect.

“I've been under the radar a little but now I'm starting to get recognised.

“I'm No. 4 in the world. I'm amongst the big names and getting up there in the rankings.”

But Sharp has also been noticed for his flash hairstyles which have gotten some varied reviews over the last few years.

“I've had some stick over the years with the hairstyles,” he added.

“I like to change it up over time, you have to have a go. My friends and fans love giving it to me over it.

“I've had perms and the lot. I just jump straight in at the barbers and let them have a go.”

And now he is ready to jump straight into the big fights.

Sharp v Ofori is live on BT Sport next Saturday August 15.
