Boxing superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has fired a dire warning to Jake and Logan Paul, claiming the Youtubers-turned-boxers could be killed if they continue fighting.
The Paul brothers have been at the vanguard of the recent trend for Youtube stars to enter the boxing ring, and have captured the sport’s attention after experiencing huge crowds and massive fan interest.
Jake has moved on to fighting actual professionals, rather than other Youtubers, and shocked the fight world when he knocked out retired MMA great Ben Askren in the first round of their bout last month.

But for all the glitz and attention on both fighters, Alvarez warned that the Paul brothers are putting themselves in extremely dangerous situations against elite boxers.
‘They could get them killed. This is not a soccer game, they could get them killed,’ Alvarez said in an interview with Graham Bensinger.
The Mexican turned his ire onto the boxing authorities, who are sanctioning the Paul brothers’ fights.

‘Why do they give licences to people who have never in their life even thrown a punch?
‘If there’s a death, the commission will be responsible. Why? Because they issued the licence for the fight.’
Alvarez has also called out the Paul brothers and others like them for disrespecting the sport of boxing, accusing them of only being interested in the financial rewards.
‘I truly believe that it’s a lack of respect,’ he said. ‘It’s all based on money. It’s all for money. I’m focused right now on other projects.
‘I have other stuff going on, and I would invite him (a Paul brother) for a sparring session so that he truly knows what it’s all about.
‘For true fighters, I do believe it is a lack of respect.’
