Deontay Wilder’s mum dragged into heavyweight debate by Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder's mother Deborah has been dragged into a debate by Tyson Fury over who is the greatest boxing heavyweight.

The two fighters are counting down to their eagerly-anticipated rematch on Saturday for the WBC heavyweight title.

Both men boast unbeaten records, with their controversial draw in 2018 the only blemish in their respective professional careers.

Though despite widespread belief Fury won the first encounter, Wilder maintains he is still top dog in the division.

Speaking during an ad-break at their pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas [via Michael Benson], Wilder declared: "Me number one and you number two."

When quizzed by Wilder who the best was, Fury naturally picked himself.

Wilder then asked who Fury held as the second best heavyweight, and received a comical response.

"Yo' Momma," Fury joked, before Wilder quipped back: "My Momma deserves to be number one."

The pair clash at the MGM Grand Arena this weekend, with Brit Anthony Joshua no doubt set to tune in.

Joshua has been desperate to set up a unification bout with Wilder for some time, but would equally be prepared to face Fury should he emerge victorious.

However a bout with either rival seems unlikely this year for Joshua, after Fury confirmed he plans to fight Wilder for a third time irrespective of the result.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Fury said: "There’s too much money in the pot for him [Wilder] not to want a rematch.

"I'll win so I’ll be having a rematch either way.

"All I do is win, win, win, no matter what. Unless it's a draw."
