Tyson Fury sends chilling warning to rival Deontay Wilder ahead of rematch

Tyson Fury has vowed to make Deontay Wilder quit.

Fury aims to knock Wilder out in their rematch on February 22 to ensure he is not robbed again by another controversial decision as he was in their first fight.

Wilder has not been floored for 12 years, let alone beaten as a professional, but Fury insists he has the power to explode the Bronze Bomber.

He claims only an “idiot” would think he cannot knock out the undefeated WBC heavyweight king.

“I’m looking for a knockout and that’s what I intend on getting,” said Fury, speaking during a break in training camp in Las Vegas.

“I’m hitting very hard in the gym. I’m 6ft 9ins, 19 stone, I can punch as hard as anyone when I let them go. Anyone who thinks Deontay Wilder cannot be knocked out is an idiot.

“This is heavyweight boxing and I’m going to prove on the 22nd how powerful I really am when he’s sitting on the seat of his pants and won’t get up because he’s quit.

“I’m going to make him quit, Deontay Wilder.”

Fury’s former trainer Ben Davison fears his bold game plan could backfire against the world’s hardest-hitting heavyweight.

Fury, 31, claims he has to go for the knock-out because he was denied victory by the judges in their contentious draw in December 2018 when he fought on the back foot.

The unbeaten traveller, who is 29-0-1, says this is why he has replaced Davison with SugarHill Steward because he needs a trainer to fit his attacking strategy.

“The bigger the risk, the bigger reward,” he said. “I know this isn’t the strategy Ben would have taken, but that’s why Ben isn’t training me for this fight. I need the strategy I’ve got today.

“What I did last time was fantastic and I won the fight, but it wasn’t good enough to get the victory, so it had to be changed.

“I wasn’t going to do the same thing again because that draw may as well be a loss. They took it away from me and gave me a big, old, dirty blue mark on my record, a draw.
