Jamie Kah was riding in Sydney for the first time since 2019 but Melbourne’s leading jockey will take home another Group 1 after winning the Doncaster Mile aboard Cascadian.
The six-year-old stormed down the outside to nail a brave Icebath on the line.
Kah has now equaled Michelle Payne with five wins at Group 1 level.
Running well above his market price for third was Dalasan while Mugatoo had every chance and finished fourth.
Cascadian’s win gave Godolphin trainer James Cummings a Group 1 double after Anamoe’s success in the Sires' Produce Stakes.
