Herald Sun form analyst Brad Waters runs the rule over Tuesday’s card at Kyneton.
O’REILLY McLUKE (Race 6 No. 1 – $2.60)
O’Reilly McLuke made an impressive Australian debut when winning at Warrnambool first-up. He’ll only be improved from that and should win again on his way to better races than Tuesday’s Kyneton assignment.
DUNDEEL STAR (Race 3 No. 7 – $5.50)
Dundeel Star raced handy and tired in a harder race at Geelong first-up but will be much better suited as an on-pace runner around the Kyneton circuit. She’ll be fitter and should be harder to beat with blinkers off for this.
SHY GIRL (Race 5 No. 15 – $7.50)
Shy Girl was a well-backed favourite and duly got the money at Wangaratta last time and she can continue to improve at Kyneton. She might be against slightly tougher opposition this time but can win again.
BACKPEDAL (Race 7 No. 6 – $5)
Backpedal was OK behind an impressive winner at The Valley second-up after a solid first-up run in a harder race. The Andrew Noblet-trained mare heads back to the provincials on Tuesday and can bounce back into the winner’s circle.

TYPICALLY BRAZEN (Race 2 No. 9 – $10)
Typically Brazen raced closer and boxed well in a small field at Wangaratta. The form out of that race has held up and she’s a great chance to break through from barrier two.
Australia’s newest Group 1-winning jockey will head to Kyneton on a high after his CF Orr Stakes win on Streets Of Avalon at Caulfield. He has a few great chances among his four rides on Tuesday.
GREAT IAM (Race 1 No. 1 – $21), TYPICALLY BRAZEN (Race 2 No. 9 – $10), KING LENNY (Race 4 No. 5 – $12), BACKPEDAL (Race 7 No. 6 – $5).
THE WEEK AHEAD
Midweek city racing will be a twilight meeting at Sandown on Wednesday. Pakenham’s night card will be the only Victorian racing on Thursday while a Sale day fixture will precede the Friday night meeting at The Valley. Flemington will be the focus of the Melbourne racing scene with Saturday’s Lightning Stakes meeting while Bendigo will hold the day’s provincial card. The famous Buchan Cup picnic meeting will also be on Saturday.
