Every Cheltenham Festival throws up amazing stories and we will get more to cherish on Thursday.

The tears had barely dried from Honeysuckle’s incredible win on the opening afternoon before we had more memories etched into our minds on Wednesday.

Now it’s time for a day that will be dominated by the race with my name on it — the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle (3.30).

Blazing Khal (11-4) and Teahupoo (4-1) are leading the betting for a race that is always one of the highlights of the Festival.

And those who enjoyed Flooring Porter’s two successes in this race will be all over the Gavin Cromwell-trained flier and fancying his chances again at 5-1.

Racing icon Ruby Walsh reckons the rain will help Teahupoo in Thursday’s race

Like many of us, the famously ice-cool Ruby Walsh broke down trying to comment on Honeysuckle’s win on Tuesday and he might just get watery-eyed again if his tip comes off.

‘I have been backing Home By The Lee for most of this year, but the rain coming down has changed my view and this is made for Teahupoo,’ Ruby told Paddy Power’s chart-topping From The Horse’s Mouth podcast. ‘This could be a massive day for Davy Russell and he has a great chance on this horse.

Teahupoo – 11/4

Blazing Khal – 7/2

Flooring Porter – 9/2

Home By The Lee – 6/1

Klassical Dream – 8/1

Gold Tweet – 11/1

Ashdale Bob 16/1

Paisley Park – 18/1

‘The more rain that falls, the better chance Teahupoo will have and, from what I have seen at Cheltenham since I landed here, it’s going to be wet.’

Shishkin is another star attraction today as he heads into the Ryanair Chase (2.50) as 4-5 favourite, yet this race might not be quite so clear-cut.

Rachael Blackmore has already guided two-time Champion Hurdler Honeysuckle to an against-the-odds victory in the Mares’ Hurdle, so she might fancy reviving Envoi Allen’s glories at 12-1.

We might be asking too much to get another fairytale, but anything can happen at Cheltenham!
