Raceday focus: Best bets, analysis Ballarat Synthetic Monday

Herald Sun form analyst Brad Waters runs the rule over Monday’s card on the Ballarat Synthetic track.

BEST BET

RONAY (Race 7 No. 2 – $3.90)

The Ballarat Synthetic track specialist showed she was just about ready to win with her strong second over this course second-up. Ronay will only be fitter for that and should be hard to hold out again.

NEXT BEST

RUDIMENTARY (Race 3 No. 6 – $5)

The Leon and Troy Corstens stable’s runners usually perform well on the synthetic track and Rudimentary was no exception last time out. He’ll be better for that outing and rates a good chance of breaking through.

YULONG PATROL (Race 5 No. 5 – $4.20)

Yulong Patrol made a solid synthetic debut on this circuit last time out and can go one better with even luck on Monday. He’s a winner at his only 1500m run and can do so again here.

INVINCIBLE BAY (Race 6 No. 5 – $5)

Invincible Bay has plenty of weight in his first-up assignment but he has the talent to overcome it. He showed good ability in his maiden preparation and can resume a winner.

VALUE BET

STYLISH ENUFF (Race 8 No. 4 – $31)

Stylish Enuff looked in need of more ground when grinding home OK over 1200m last time. He’s up to 1400m on Monday and is likely to get back from the tricky gate. Watch for him to be charging late.

THE JOCKEY

DEAN HOLLAND

Dean Holland booted home a treble on the Ballarat Synthetic track two meetings ago and has another decent book of rides on Monday. ENDLESSLY (Race 1 No. 7 – $4), EXTRAPOLATE (Race 2 No. 4 – $7.50), RUDIMENTARY (Race 3 No. 6 – $5), MY BOY BIRMINGHAM (Race 4 No. 3 – $1.95), RAAZOU (Race 6 No. 5 – $9.50), LOBSTER NOODLES (Race 8 No. 12 – $16)

THE WEEK AHEAD
