BLOW YOUR HORN is fancied to get off the mark at the fourth attempt with a victory in the Betway Casino Handicap (7.15) at Wolverhampton.
The son of Golden Horn initially went to the 2015 Derby hero’s trainer, John Gosden, but never made the track.
By the time of his debut, Blow Your Horn was in the care of Charlie Fellowes, who saddled my selection to a second at Newcastle in January and a fourth there a month later.
Then came another bump in the road – Blow Your Horn was off track for 308 days, during which time he was gelded, before his handicap debut over today’s course and distance 10 days before Christmas.
There was certainly enough in his fourth to Howzer Black to make Stevie Donohoe’s mount of interest here.
The form has worked out – the winner has made the podium from a higher mark in both outings since, while third home Athmad won next time – and, off the same BHA mark of 75, Blow Your Horn can make it fifth time lucky.
Earlier on the card, Hollie Doyle and PERFECT ROSE are the combination to follow in the Get Your Ladbrokes Daily Odds Boost Fillies' Handicap (4.45).
The daughter of Oasis Dream is an 11-race maiden, but came within a head of hitting the jackpot over course and distance a week ago. She competes from the same rating and should go one better.
Officials at Hereford are confident the seven-race jumps card will beat the weather and, if it does, WINDS OF FIRE is worth backing for the foxtrotracing.com Great Value Red Caps Syndicate Handicap Hurdle (2.50).
At Doncaster, where no difficulties are anticipated ahead of the National Hunt action, GARRANE, equipped with a tongue strap and a visor, appeals in the Play ITV7 Tonight Novices' Handicap Chase (2.40).
