The Chicago White Sox continued their offseason push to build a championship contender Monday, agreeing to a multiyear deal with former Oakland A's closer Liam Hendriks, according tomultiple reports.
Hendriks' deal would be for three years, plus an option for a fourth, and it would guarantee him $54 million.
Hendriks, 31, was the 2020 American League reliever of the year after racking up 14 saves and posting a 1.78 ERA for the AL West champion A's. It was also the second consecutive season he has struck out more than 13 batters per nine innings.
