Fuming Grayson Murray launches his putter in ‘full meltdown’ at US Open

A raging Grayson Murray launched his putter “40 yards” after suffering a “full meltdown” at the US Open.

The 28-year-old arrived at the seventh hole at even par but walked away with a quadruple-bogey. It came as his drive found the left side of the fairway and left him with only 157 yards to the hole.

It took him a further seven shots to get it in from there and after sailing the green, the American made a mess of things with his wedge which resulted in a quadruple-bogey. And he was clearly left fuming as he aggressively threw his putter into the fescue behind the seventh green.

And fans were left unsurprised despite Murray’s clearly over-the-top reaction, taking to Twitter to voice their amusement.

One fan tweeted: “Just watched Grayson Murray go full meltdown on 7th green. Two club throws and a club snap over his knee. I do not envy his caddy.”

Another added: “That Grayson Murray is a rage monster.”

A third commented: “Watching Grayson Murray chuck a putter 40 yards and snap a club is the least surprising thing ever.”

Things got even worse for Murray two holes later when a triple-bogey on the ninth brought his mark to 42 for the opening stretch.

Murray then lost his head completely by snapping his iron in two over his right leg after a pulled approach shot on the 10th.

He dropped to 16-over for the tournament following the bogey on no.10.
