Tom Daley has won over even more fans at this summer’s Olympics after being spotted doing some knitting while watching the women’s 3m final. The British sporting hero has been on cloud nine this week after finally clinching his first ever Olympic gold.

The British driver won the men’s synchronised 10m platform with partner Matty Lee on Monday.

The Tokyo Games are Daley’s fourth Olymipcs, having won two bronze medals at London 2012 and Rio 2016.

And he could still add another medal to his haul next week when he competes in the 10m individual event on August 6.

In the meantime, Daley has seemingly been occupying his time by watching plenty of other action in the diving pool.

He was spotted in the stands watching the women’s 3m final on Sunday morning.

And the cameras picked up Daley while he was knitting something, with fans falling more in love with the diving superstar.

One viewer wrote: “OMG Tom Daley knitting in the audience of women’s diving. Absolute icon.”

Another said: “Tom Daley knitting during the women’s final is absolutely sending me.”

A third posted: “Tom Daley knitting at the 3m finals is a whole MOOD.”

It’s not the first time Daley has shown off his side hobby this week as the GB athlete revealed on Instagram that he had knitted personalised cosy for his gold medal.

“Myself and Mattie my secret partner won the Olympics yesterday,” Daley said on Instagram.

“The one thing that has kept me sane throughout this whole process is my love for knitting and crochet and all things stitching.

“This morning I made a little cosy for my medal to stop it getting scratched so here it is.”

The women’s 3m final was won by China’s Shi Tingmao, who beat second-place by a remarkable 34.75 points.

Wang Han picked up silver while Team USA’s Krysta Palmer grabbed bronze.

Britain’s Grace Reid and Scarlett Mew Jensen were unable to make it through the preliminary round on Friday.
