Aaron Rodgers’ latest hairstyle keeps NFL fans on their toes

A lot of time passed during the Packers’ first-round playoff bye, at least if you’re judging time’s passage by the length of Aaron Rodgers’ hair.

The Green Bay quarterback played against the Rams with some of the longest hair he’s exhibited during the later stages of his NFL career. Usually, the biggest appearance intrigue with Rodgers comes from facial hair — mustache or fuller beard or ever clean shaven. But against Los Angeles, Rodgers was sporting a middle part.

That’s the thing about Rodgers, though — he keeps both defenses and hair followers on their toes. In regards to the Rams, Rodgers easily dispatched of them in a 32-18 win. The likely 2020 NFL MVP threw for 296 yards and two touchdowns, completing 23 of his 36 passes and letting a three-headed rushing attack aid him in a straightforward win.

The divisional round victory set Rodgers and company up with an NFC title game showdown with Tom Brady on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. ET.

By that time, Rodgers may have a new haircut. It was starting to look a little long, so at least here you’ve got the evidence of what Rodgers looked like pre-cut, whenever he decides to get it cut.

If Rodgers were a hockey player, he wouldn’t touch the hair or beard throughout the playoffs. By the Stanley Cup, the quickest hair-growers of the bunch have beards as full as James Harden’s. Maybe Rodgers, a California boy, will look like he’s ready to go surfing if he wins against the Buccaneers and has another 14 days until the Super Bowl is played.

Here’s the divisional round flow in motion, for those of you who were that curious.

As we said, there’s no telling what Rodgers’ head will look like when faced off with the usually clean-cut Brady. Or maybe the G.O.A.T. will have taken inspiration from Rodgers and grown his hair out, too. Guess we’ll all just have to tune into the NFC Championship Game and wait for a fateful moment when the cameras catch Rodgers taking his helmet off. — surely, that’ll be the most suspense-filled moment of the contest.
