Avalanche free agency tracker 2022: Who’s joining the team, who’s leaving, who’s re-signing

Mere weeks since Colorado won the Stanley Cup, there’s no rest for Joe Sakic and the Avalanche front office as free agency kicked off on July 13.

Here’s a running list of the new faces joining the Avs, the free agents who are leaving and who’s getting contract extensions:

Joining the Avalanche

Free agents

  • Andreas Englund, defenseman (previously Ottawa) — one year | Story
  • Charles Hudon, forward (previously Montreal) — one year, two-way contract | Story
  • Jonas Johansson, goaltender (previously Florida) — one year | Story

Via trade

  • Alexandar Georgiev, goaltender (from Rangers for draft picks) | Story
    Avs sent 2022 third- and fifth round picks and a 2023 third-round pick.
    Note: Georgiev signed a three-year, $10.2 million contract.
