NHL free agency news: Sabres sign Marcus Johansson to 2-year deal

Buffalo has signed a new forward.

The Sabres announced Saturday that they inked Marcus Johansson to a two-year, $4.5 million deal.

The 28-year-old totaled 12 goals and 15 assists in 48 games with the Devils in 2018-19 before being dealt to the Bruins, where he played 10 regular-season games before becoming a major contributor to Boston’s Stanley Cup run.

Johansson tallied 11 points in this year’s postseason and notched a game-winner for the Bruins, but Boston ultimately fell to St. Louis in seven games in the Stanley Cup final.
