NASCAR at Martinsville: Live race updates, results, highlights from First Data 500

A spot in the final four of the NASCAR playoffs is up for grabs Sunday at Martinsville, where the third round of the NASCAR playoffs begin.

Chase Elliott narrowly nabbed the final spot in the Round of Eight last week, just beating out Brad Keselowski in a race at Kansas Motor Speedway that took two overtimes. Denny Hamlin, who won last week’s race and is third in the standings, has the pole on Sunday. Elliott, meanwhile, blew an engine during practice and will be starting from the back of the pack.

Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney are 35 and 37 points below the cutline, respectively, giving them by far the most work to do to get into position to advance to the next round in two weeks. Keselowski and Elliott finished first and second at the regular season race at Martinsville, followed by Kyle Busch, Blaney and Hamlin in the top five.
