It’s been a month to forget for the Broncos.
Some would say it’s been a year to forget. Things have gone from bad to worse to crisis since the infamous 58-0 hammering by the Eels in the 2019 finals series and there’s little to be optimistic about.
David Fifita has decided his future lies elsewhere and will walk away at the conclusion of the season. Tevita Pangai Jr is set to be sacked.
The financial impact of the pandemic is significant.
Anthony Seibold, the coach, has been handed ultimatums if he wants to remain employed. he has publicly claimed responsibility and repeatedly said the “buck stops with him”.
He has been banned from coaching the side for a fortnight owing to a COVID breach to attend a personal family matter. And he’s had to call in legal experts to deal with incessant, disgusting rumour mongering.
Chairman Karl Morris and departing chief executive Paul White are yet to swallow their pride, stop the rot and address the future of Seibold and the club.
The Broncos have never been at a lower point since their creation in 1988.
Look back on the fall from grace.
