Mikel Arteta gave an update on Mesut Ozil's transfer to Fenerbahce after Arsenal's 3-0 win over Newcastle United.
Arteta's young guns were instrumental in lifting Arsenal into the top half of the Premier League table, with Emile Smith Rowe setting up Bukayo Saka for the second goal.
At the same time, the Gunners were preparing to say goodbye to the old guard, with Mesut Ozil in Turkey finalising his move.
The 32-year-old was pictured in Istanbul wearing Fenerbahce's colours, having reportedly agreed to waive a chunk of his salary to join his boyhood club.
After Monday's win at the Emirates, Arteta was asked for the latest on Ozil's exit.
The manager confirmed that the transfer was imminent, but insisted it was not yet a done deal.
"He's in Turkey now," said Arteta. "He is going through the medical and there is some paperwork to do.
"When the deal is finalised we will make an announcement."
Ozil has agreed an end to his seven-year stay with the Gunners after it became clear he had no future at the Emirates.

Having been offered a three-year deal by Fenerbahce, on Sunday the midfielder shared images of himself and his wife arriving in Turkey, having travelled on a private jet adorned inside with his new club's colours.
Fenerbahce also tweeted pictures of Ozil, captioned: "Our club is bringing Mesut Ozil to Istanbul to continue the transfer processes."
While Ozil is leaving behind the side where he won three FA Cups, the 32-year-old is also leaving behind the No.10 shirt in north London.
And three players are reportedly in the running for the shirt.
Monday's two-goal hero Aubameyang, who wears No.14, and No.9 Alexandre Lacazette shared some banter about Ozil’s number on Instagram on Sunday.
And having impressed in the playmaker role in recent weeks, youngster Smith Rowe could also make a claim, according to The Athletic .
Smith Rowe's assist on Monday took his tally to five in 10 senior appearances, while he has also scored two goals.
