Arsenal’s summer transfer window has not got off to the best of starts, with reports today stating that they have missed out on top target Emiliano Buendia. The Argentine playmaker has starred for Norwich City over recent seasons, drawing the interest of the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta is searching for a solution for the problem position behind the striker in his squad, with the Spaniard seeking more creativity next season.
Scoring goals has been a major problem for the Gunners since Arteta took charge, with Arsenal scoring the lowest amount of any team who finished in the top-half of the Premier League.
That means bringing in a new playmaker will be vital this summer as Arteta searches for a long-term replacement for Mesut Ozil.
Buendia would appear to be the perfect man to fill that role in the Gunners’ squad, with the 24-year-old vital in Norwich’s Championship winning campaign.

Odegaard became a regular in Arteta’s side and showed several glimpses of his immense talent during his time at the Emirates.
With Madrid needing to bring in funds to revamp their squad, the Gunners could attempt to bring the 22-year-old back to the Premier League.
Nkunku will be a familiar name to Arsenal fans, having previously been a target when Unai Emery was in charge.
The Frenchman made 40 appearances in all competitions to help RB Leipzig to finish second in the Bundesliga.
The 32-year-old weighed in with seven goals and 11 assists this term, clearly showing he can provide a creative spark.
While predominantly a centre-midfielder, Aouar has the ability to play further forward and has shined for Lyon.
He is not a traditional number 10, but does look to play the ball forwards and drive his team on, something that Arsenal have been sorely lacking.
The 22-year-old scored eight goals and notched four assists as Les Gones secured a top-four place in Ligue 1.
