Barcelona show off their new home shirt featuring the logo of Catalan singer Rosalia for this weekend’s Clasico as part of Spotify partnership… but the limited edition kit will set fans back a whopping £350!

  • Drake’s owl logo was featured on kit for the first Clasico of the season in October
  • Catalan singer Rosalia will be the second artist to be promoted this month

Barcelona will wear kits featuring the logo of Spanish singer Rosalia during the Clasico against Real Madrid on March 19.

Spotify gave up their place on the shirt during the first Clasico of the season, allowing Drake’s owl logo displayed on the kit.

The Canadian singer’s logo featured to mark him becoming the first artist to achieve 50 billion streams of his songs on the platform. Real Madrid won the match 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The latest partnership will see the Catalan singer’s studio album logo adorned across the front of the kit as they look to extend their lead at the top of La Liga to 12 points on Sunday.

The kit will feature the logo from the Catalan singer’s latest studio album Motomami

It follows the partnership with Drake’s owl logo – which was worn in the reverse fixture

Announcing the news across social media on Wednesday, the club shared a promotional video of the kit hanging up in a gloomily-lit room with a butterfly fluttering around it.

Producing a play on the album’s name and the general term used for Barcelona supporters, the club tweeted: ‘Calling all MOTOCULERS – Gear up, Rosalia is on our team this #ElClásico. 19/03/2023.’

‘Barça and Sportify have picked Rosalia because it is a year ago this month that her album Motomami was released, a record that has stretched the boundaries of contemporary music,’ they added.

Should supporters wish to buy a limited edition version of the shirt, however, they will be set back some £350. An even more exclusive version will be available for £1746.25 – signed by both starting teams for the men’s and women’s Clasicos.

Barcelona said the Drake agreement came with streaming service to offer ‘innovative experiences for football fans, as well as helping to reach new audiences through music.’

The La Liga giants confirmed the appearance of other artist’s logos were scheduled as the season progressed.

The 30-year-old singer grew up in Barcelona and is considered one of Spain’s most famous singers.

Rosalia has won multiple career awards including two Grammys and eight Latin Grammys, while she has twice been named as Spain’s most influential woman by Forbes.

Victory over Real Madrid would take Barcelona closer to a first La Liga title since 2018-19

Barcelona suffered a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the first Clasico of the season in October

Barcelona and Spotify’s partnership officially began in June, with the streaming service sponsoring the club’s senior shirts for the next four seasons, as well as on the kits of the club’s pro academies.

The club’s 99,354-seat stadium was also renamed Spotify Camp Nou as part of the deal, which gave the cash-strapped side a major boost.

Despite Barcelona’s financial struggles, the Catalan side currently hold a nine point lead over arch rivals Real Madrid in La Liga.

Victory in the Clasico on March 19 would represent a major step towards Xavi’s side winning the title for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
