Chelsea have been busy this summer, with Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech in through the door early on in the transfer window.
However, Frank Lampard isn’t content with just two additions. The Blues boss wants to overhaul his squad ahead of the 2020/21 season, so more signings are expected before the window closes.
Kai Havertz has become the focus of most speculation of late, with the German Chelsea ’s new priority, but the Stamford Bridge club are looking at a number of different players in a number of different positions.
Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.
Chelsea expect £18m for unwanted midfielder
AC Milan are pressing for the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko, with Chelsea expecting a fee of €20million (£18m) for the French midfielder.
Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claims the Serie A side are interested in signing the 25-year-old having had him on loan for the 2018/19 season, despite Bakayoko’s unimpressive loan spell at Monaco last season.
It is reported that AC Milan have already agreed personal terms with Bakayoko, with the Italian club now
seeking to agree on a transfer fee with Chelsea.
Bakayoko is thought to be willing to take a wage cut to make the move to the San Siro, with the Frenchman having failed to make an impact at Chelsea since joining from Monaco in the summer of 2017.
Ampadu set for another loan move
Fulham are expected to sign Ethan Ampadu on loan from Chelsea for next season as the youngster continues his development.
The Athletic (via the Daily Mail) reports the teenager, who can play as a centre-back or as a central midfielder, will be loaned out once again for the 2020/21 season.
But will be staying closer to home this time, after spending the 2019/20 campaign at RB Leipzig.
Chelsea are keen for Ampadu to gain some more first-team experience and want him to join a Premier League club in order to acerbate his development.
Norwich City are reportedly interested in Ampadu, but Fulham hold the edge over the Canaries in the pursuit of the Welsh international due to their promotion to the top flight.
Chelsea approach for Real Madrid winger
Vinicius Junior is facing questions over his future at Real Madrid, with Chelsea reported to have been the last club to enquire about the availability of the Brazilian winger.
The 20-year-old failed to make it off the bench in Real Madrid’s Champions League last-16 defeat to Manchester City, leading some to question what role he will play in Zinedine Zidane’s side going forward.
AS (via Sport Witness) claims Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest in Vinicius in the past, but that it was Chelsea who last lodged their interest, having made contact with Real Madrid as recently as November.
