Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes
Chelsea Women host Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final at Kingsmeadow this afternoon.
The Blues were defeated 2-1 in the first leg in Germany, however, Melanie Leupolz’s crucial away goal leaves Emma Hayes’ side with a firm hope of reaching a first final.
Despite the huge magnitude of the match, Hayes has urged her side to treat the tie like any other game, although she admitted her players will need to put in “the performance of their life”.
“I’m going to make sure everybody in this environment behaves exactly the same way they behave every day. Anything else means you are preparing for an occasion,” she said.
“Well no one is getting married and it’s a game of football, it’s our job to do what we do. Being a pro is just doing it all the time. That’s what we’ve cultivated over the years. It doesn’t matter if it is Bristol this weekend or Bayern Munich, I promise you we will prepare in exactly the same way.” Here is everything you need to know:
