Christian Eriksen transfer plans could ‘change dramatically’ after Arsenal talks

Transfer update: Latest on Eriksen, Bale and Xhaka

Christian Eriksen will leave Inter Milan in January, but he might not be heading to Arsenal – despite holding talks with the Gunners. Eriksen is on the transfer list at the San Siro, and has been tipped to return to London and sign for Arsenal.

Eriksen is set to be a man in demand when the January transfer window opens.

The Danish playmaker only left Tottenham 11 months ago, but it seems he’ll already be on the move again.

His £17million move to Inter Milan hasn’t worked out for him, and he’s only started 16 times for Antonio Conte’s side.

He has failed to make his mark and get a regular place in the side, and it seems Inter are already keen to cash in.

Inter CEO Guisseppe Marotta confirmed this week that Eriksen would be allowed to leave in the January window, sparking a potential bidding war.

“We’ve been very clear many times that there are players on the so-called transfer list, these are players who want to play more regularly, and the club is ready to make them happy and find replacements,’ he said.

“Eriksen is on the transfer list, Piero Ausilio confirmed as much.

“He has struggled to settle into the squad, he is not functional to the squad.”

Arsenal are believed to be the frontrunners for his signature, with reports suggesting they’ve already held preliminary talks.

The Gunners are crying out for a new creative midfielder, and have already missed out on Dominik Szoboszlai.

Italian outlet Calciomercato claims they’ve already held talks with Inter about the potential of organising a deal for the January window.

However, those plans could be scuppered with the expected news that Mauricio Pochettino will take over from Thomas Tuchel as Paris Saint-Germain manager.

The former Tottenham boss, who was responsible for Eriksen’s best form in north London, has already engaged in talks over taking over at the Parc des Princes.

He has been out of work since leaving Spurs, and is expected to be in charge when they next play on January 6th.

And reports suggest he will make Eriksen one of his top transfer targets for the January window.

A possible swap deal with Leandro Parades heading the other way has been mooted, and it seems that could scupper Arsenal’s chances of signing the Dane.
