The 21-year-old is currently on loan at West Brom where he has featured regularly this season

And according to Goal, the midfielder is highly-rated at Stamford Bridge and is one of the favourites to be promoted to the Chelsea first-team next season.

Gallagher has admitted he is enjoying his time at West Brom this season, even though the Baggies are struggling in the relegation zone and are ten points clear of safety with nine games left this season.

The 21-year-old claims he is continuing his development as he rises up the football pyramid and the multiple loan spells has broadened his professional experience.

Gallagher played for Chelsea in pre-season last year but has spent the last two seasons on loan

Gallagher said recently: ‘I was excited to play in the Premier League after a step up from Championship last season. I’ve loved every minute of it.

‘Hopefully I’ll keep developing and improving. It’s been a tough season for West Brom so far. Premier League quality will punish you if you switch off, so you need to be concentrated and focused.

‘I know people have other views on players going on loan and I’ve been at three different teams, but it’s three different experiences and teams with (different) styles, different managers and players. I’ve learnt a lot already in two years. Hopefully I can continue to learn as a player.’

The midfielder played in the Young Lions’ final group match against Croatia, which England won 2-1 but the result still saw Aidy Boothroyd’s side finish bottom of their group.

Gallagher is a boyhood Chelsea fan and comes from a Blues-supporting family in Epsom, with the midfielder joining the west Londoners’ youth team at the age of eight.

The midfielder was watched by former Blues boss Frank Lampard in the most recent pre-season campaign before Gallagher was sent out on loan to West Brom.
