Courtois gets big smooch from stunning fiancee after saving penalty for Belgium

Belgium hero Thibaut Courtois celebrated another fine performance by sharing a kiss with stunning fiancee Mishel Gerzig.

The Spanish model was in the stands to watch the Real Madrid shot-stopper save his country’s World Cup bacon. A handball from former Atletico Madrid teammate Yannick Carasco handed Canada the perfect opportunity to score their first ever World Cup goal and take the lead against Roberto Martinez’s side.

However, the ex-Chelsea No.1 guessed the right way and comfortably pushed Alpoonso Davies’ penalty away to safety. And his delighted partner ensured he was firmly rewarded for his goalkeeping excellence with a huge kiss after the match.

Courtois was one of very few Belgian players who deserved such an embrace after the game. While they ran out 1-0 winners over Canada, they were extremely lucky to take the three points.

Michy Batshuayi’s fine effort came completely against the run of play as the dynamic, but wasteful Canadians dominated the first half. As well as Davies’ missed penalty, Courtois also made huge saves against Alistair Johnston and Cyle Larin.

In total, the Canadians had 22 shots on goal but could not breach the imperious Courtois who more than earned his post-match smooch with Gerzig. She was also one of the first to praise his efforts, labelling him ‘my king’ on her social media pages.

Courtois and Gerzig have been seeing each other for the last couple of years. Their love affair began when they both started exchanging messages on social media during the pandemic.

They have since gone on to get engaged and will soon marry, after Courtois went down on one knee during a holiday together in June. Wherever Courtois is playing, Gerzig goes, whether it is the Bernabeu with Real Madrid or the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan Qatar.

Up next, she will likely be in the stands for Belgium’s next clash against Morocco on November 27.
