Cristiano Ronaldo rejected yet again as Real Madrid refuse to sign Man Utd star

Cristiano Ronaldo has received yet another transfer rejection with Real Madrid unwilling to re-sign the wantaway Manchester United veteran.

Despite calls from Erik ten Hag that their star man is not for sale, Ronaldo, 37, is still yet to return to pre-season training and is understood to be actively seeking an exit from Old Trafford this summer. The Portuguese icon has remained at home throughout the Red Devils' pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia citing family issues with super-agent Jorge Mendes on the hunt for a new club.

And after already seeing a plethora of potential suitors deny any interest in Ronaldo, former club Real Madrid are the latest outfit to snub a move for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

According to Spanish periodical Marca, Los Blancos have ruled themselves out of re-signing their former star as Real are more focused on shipping out the deadwood before adding to their star-studded squad.

The Champions League winners have already added anchorman Aurelien Tchouameni in an eye-watering £72million deal from Monaco whilst German international Antonio Rudiger has penned a four-year deal in the Spanish capital after leaving Chelsea at the end of his contract.

Ronaldo has already seen two potential returns to La Liga fall through with Barcelona prioritising a £42m deal for Robert Lewandowski and Real's city rivals Atletico unable to afford his mammoth wages. European juggernauts PSG and Bayern Munich have also stated they are not interested in Portugal's record goalscorer whilst Premier League rivals Chelsea instead opted for Raheem Sterling.

Desperate to continue firing in the Champions League, Ronaldo has himself turned down a mammoth £233m contract from Saudi Arabia but options are running slim for the Man Utd forward and it's now a real possibility he'll be unable to continue playing amongst Europe's elite for a 20th consecutive campaign.
