Dion Dublin singles out 'genius' Manchester United star after Everton draw

Dion Dublin thinks Manchester United are a ‘completely different side’ with Edinson Cavani in the starting XI and hailed his ‘centre-forward genius’.

Cavani scored United’s opener in a 3-3 draw at Old Trafford, with Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Abdoulaye Doucoure, James Rodriguez and Dominic Calvert-Lewin sharing out the goals in a thrilling contest.

The Uruguay international has impressed in his first season in the Premier League, scoring six goals in just seven starts, while providing two assists.

Dublin thinks his movement to latch onto Marcus Rashford’s cross to head home in the first half was another sign of his genius.

And he is convinced the 33-year-old makes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side significantly stronger.

‘They played some really good stuff, looked dominant in bits and starts,’ Dublin told Match of the Day.

‘But Manchester United are a completely different side when they’ve got a centre-forward.

‘When they’ve got a centre-forward they can play off, somebody they know is going to be in the right place at the right time, they’re a different side. Absolutely different side.

‘This one here [the goal], for instance. This is centre-forward genius.

‘No pressure on Rashford at all, give Rashford time he’ll find a decent cross, Cavani finds himself in the right area at the far post.

‘It’s just a little step, one little step in front of Keane, that’s all it needed. Get into that position and Rashford will find you, any good player will.’
