Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has revealed that Manchester United did make an approach to sign Jadon Sancho earlier this year.
As exclusively revealed by Metro.co.uk in January, United have been monitoring Sancho’s performances in the Bundesliga following his departure from Manchester City and had identified the 19-year-old as a target ahead of the summer transfer window.
Dortmund, however, refused to entertain an offer from United and remain keen on keeping the winger at the club.
Zorc also revealed that Sancho himself had no desire to make the move to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
‘A hot topic right now is Sancho and Manchester United,’ Zorc said on Inside Borussia Dortmund which can be viewed on Amazon Prime.
‘Both his discussions with the club and mine with the consultants.
‘A meeting did take place. Manchester United invited the consultant.
‘But according to what I know, the consultant told the club that no matter how much money they offer, we won’t let him go this summer.
‘But the player also has no intention of taking that step this summer.’
