Everton banned from signing academy players aged 10 to 18 for two years after being found guilty of breaking tapping-up rules

  • Everton have been hit with a two-year ban after breaking tapping-up rules
  • The Merseyside club were found guilty of tapping up a young schoolboy
  • They will be unable to sign players aged between 10 and 18 as punishment

Everton have been banned from signing academy players aged between 10 and 18 after they were found guilty of tapping up a schoolboy who now plays for Manchester United. 

The Merseyside club have also been fined following an investigation into the alleged claims. 

The Premier League outfit suspended their long-serving head of academy recruitment Martin Waldron in September after the club were alleged to have tapped up a young player at Cardiff City.
