Fans spot ‘pathetic’ Jose Sa ‘telling De Bruyne to take it easy against him’

Fans have spotted "pathetic" Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Jose Sa telling Kevin De Bruyne to take it easy against him.

The Belgian midfielder grabbed two assists in a man of the match performance against Wolves on Saturday afternoon, with Manchester City running out 3-0 winners at Molineux. Ahead of the match, though, Sa had attempted to convince De Bruyne to go easy on him as the players lined up in the tunnel prior to kick-off.

De Bruyne had scored four goals on his previous visit to Molineux, giving Sa a torrid afternoon as City won 5-1 back in May on route to winning the title.

Fans have been quick to criticise Sa's antics on social media, though, after footage of him speaking to De Bruyne emerged online.

One unimpressed fan tweeted: "Lost before the game even started. Pathetic mentality." Another added: "Teams like wolves should be relegated. Begging KDB for what exactly??"

A third supporter also wrote: "Poor mentality that. Lost game straight away with that." One more added: "Should be sacked on the spot! Awful mentality before the game."

Although De Bruyne failed to get on the scoresheet, Sa's plea did not change the outcome of the match and the Portuguese keeper was picking the ball out of his net less than a minute in.

De Bruyne's cross after 55 seconds was neatly converted by Jack Grealish before Erling Haaland added a second after 16 minutes, his 11th Premier League goal of the season.

Wolves' hopes of rescuing a point were all but diminished shortly after half hour mark when central defender Nathan Collins was shown a straight red card.

The former Burnley man was penalised for a reckless challenge on Grealish, catching the England winger with a high foot after challenging him for a long ball.

Sa and Wolves will be hoping for more luck after the international break when they visit West Ham United, meanwhile, City face arch-rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.
