Steven Gerrard would be the best candidate to take over from Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool this summer should the former Borussia Dortmund boss decide to leave Anfield.
Although the German is under contract until the summer of 2024, their poor attempt to retain the Premier League title this season has come alongside disappointing domestic cup exits.
Although the Reds cruised into the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Real Madrid will pose stern opposition before a potential semi-final matchup with Chelsea.
Should the worst case scenario happen and Klopp decide to take a break from football, Rangers boss Gerrard would be the best man to take over despite his relative inexperience.
Knowledge is power
There is no manager in the world that has a better understanding of Liverpool Football Club than Gerrard thanks to his 26 years at Anfield between 1989 and 2015.
The Scottish Premiership winning boss would fit back into the club with ease despite their move to a new training ground, eliminating the need for a period of settling.
Despite not winning the Premier League during his time at the club, his cup success under the likes of Rafa Benitez and Kenny Dalglish will give him successful memories to build on.
Although Liverpool were dubbed mentality midgets by Jamie Carragher during their defeat against Fulham, Gerrard has shown that he can get his side playing without fear.
Rangers have won 28 Premiership fixtures and draw the other four so far this season, not letting up in their successful pursuit to stop Celtic winning a tenth consecutive title.
Liverpool on the other hand have drawn seven and lost nine games in the Premier League so far this season, a huge disappointment after their title winning heroics.

Gerrard has shown that he can get the best out of previously inconsistent players as a manager, as showcased by Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Ryan Kent so far this season.
Kent joined on a permanent deal from Liverpool in 2019 and has hit 11 goals for the club in all competitions so far this season, while Goldson and Balogun have thrived after Brighton struggles.
Should Gerrard end up at Anfield, he will have an huge amount of talent to work with, and his relationship with the likes of Alfredo Morelos only bodes well.
Passion in abundance
Gerrard has bought his passion for Liverpool to Glasgow since joining Rangers in 2018, and that would no doubt help in getting his former side back to their best.
The former England captain has been seen celebrating with his players since their title triumph, showing he is not only a leader, but a valued personality.
While Liverpool have looked a shadow of their former sides this season, having one of the greatest ever players return would only be a boost.
While Gerrard’s side have been flying on the pitch, he has kept his feet on the ground when talking to the media and shown his ability to handle pressure.
Liverpool would be crying out for a strong presence should they be forced to move forward without their hero Klopp, and their former skipper looks a steady bet.
Although Gerrard has been open about his desire to become Liverpool boss in the future, it remains to be seen how he would react should an offer come to his door in the near future.
