Frank Lampard gave Mason Mount expletive warning during Chelsea vs Sheffield Utd

Frank Lampard had a stern three-letter warning for Mason Mount during Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday – “stop f****** about”.

The Blues continued their fine run of form against Chris Wilder’s Blades at Stamford Bridge, despite initially falling a goal behind when David McGoldrick opened the scoring after nine minutes.

Tammy Abraham soon levelled proceedings, before Ben Chilwell bundled Hakim Ziyech’s cross over the line to give Frank Lampard’s men the lead before half-time.

Goals from Thiago Silva and Timo Werner put Chelsea out of sight in the second half, ensuring they head into this week’s international break in a rich vein of form.

Lampard would undoubtedly have been impressed by what he saw, but The Telegraph claim he had an angry message for Mount during the victory.

The Blues boss is said to have shouted at his star pupil from the sideline after half an hour to tell him bluntly: “Stop f****** about”.

While his side were clearly dominating, he was keen to see Mount move the ball out wide at a much quicker pace, where Ziyech and Reece James were waiting over on the right flank.

The 21-year-old clearly took Lampard’s advice on board, subsequently spraying a number of long-range passes out to the flanks and allowing the likes of Ziyech and James to make the most of their world-class crossing ability.

It was Ziyech who pulled the strings for Chelsea on the night, teeing up both Chilwell and Silva in west London while also playing a part in Werner’s strike.

Speaking about the new £36million recruit, Mount said: “He is a brilliant player. He comes into the team and he knows what he can bring with his quality left foot.
