Manchester United chief Ed Woodward is hoping to sign Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and a new centre-back when the transfer window reopens. The Red Devils have secured Champions League qualification for the upcoming campaign. So Express Sport will now take a look at how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side’s squad could look next term.
Goalkeepers: De Gea, Henderson, Bishop
Manchester United won’t be selling David De Gea, despite the Spain international enduring an erratic 18 months at Old Trafford.
And they want Dean Henderson back to provide competition for the 29-year-old, having seen the youngster flourish on loan at Sheffield United.
United may even make Henderson their No 1, despite Solskjaer regularly backing De Gea.
Sergio Romero is likely to leave having spent the majority of the past five years stuck on the bench.
And that means Nathan Bishop may be United’s third-choice goalkeeper next term, with Lee Grant potentially retiring.

Defenders: Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly, Mings, Tuanzebe, Wan-Bissaka, Mengi, Shaw, Williams
Manchester United have seen Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof thrive this season, so the duo won’t be going anywhere.
Neither will Axel Tuanzebe, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams.
United do want to sign a centre-back, however, and Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings fits the profile of player Solskjaer wants at Old Trafford.
They’re also unlikely to loan out Teden Mengi, who has recently started training with the first-team.
And those could be the defensive options for Solskjaer next season.

Midfielders: Fred, McTominay, Matic, Fernandes, Mata, Grealish, Pogba
United are confident Paul Pogba will stay and that he’ll continue to operate in the middle of the park alongside Paul Pogba.
But, despite that, they still want to land Aston Villa’s Grealish.
United are likely to sell Jesse Lingard this transfer window and would like to bring in Grealish as his replacement.
They’d then have Fred, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata all capable of playing the middle, too.

Forwards: Rashford, Martial, James, Ighalo, Greenwood, Sancho
United are confident they’ll secure the signing of Sancho, despite Borussia Dortmund being stubborn negotiators so far.
And, should that happen, he’d provide competition for attacking trident Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood.
Odion Ighalo would then act as backup until January, when his loan deal with the club is due to expire.
And Daniel James would be another option coming off the bench.
There’s expected to be no role for Alexis Sanchez – even if Inter Milan fail to sign the Chile international.
