Jurgen Klopp has reacted to the news that Liverpool's title rivals Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Erling Haaland this summer.

City announced on Tuesday afternoon that they have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign the 21-year-old striker after triggering his £51million release clause. The club's official statement also explained that the deal is subject to agreeing personal terms with the Norwegian, although he is understood to have had a medical in Belgium on Monday.

After Liverpool's comeback win over face Aston Villa on Tuesday night, Klopp reacted to the news during his post-match press conference.

The Liverpool boss told reporters: “How much better does he make them? A lot! Unfortunately he’s a really good signing. He is a beast. Unfortunately a really good signing."

Klopp's side can pull level on points with City at the top of the Premier League table with a victory at Villa Park, having slipped behind in the title race at the weekend.

Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night, before City boosted their goal difference and moved three points clear by beating Newcastle United 5-0 the next day.

How many goals will Erling Haaland score for Manchester City next season? Let us know in the comments section below.

City travel to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday with just two league matches remaining in the season after the midweek fixtures are completed.

Pep Guardiola will now have an even more impressive attack next season after the deal to sign Haaland was confirmed, with the forward having a devastating record in front of goal.

Since joining Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020, he has scored 85 goals in 88 appearances for the Bundesliga giants, including 28 in 29 matches this season.

Prior to arriving in Germany, Haaland scored 29 in 27 for Salzburg, with one of those goals coming at Anfield against Klopp's Liverpool in the Champions League group stage in 2019.
