Klopp admits it’s really good to have "new signing" around ahead of Man Utd

Jurgen Klopp admits it's really good to have Thiago Alcantara around, referring to the returning Liverpool midfielder as a "new signing".

Thiago has struggled with injuries since joining Liverpool from Bayern Munich, and has been out of regular action after picking up a knock against Everton on October 17.

He has made three appearances over the past couple of weeks and has nearly returned to full fitness, just in time for Liverpool's Premier League clash with rivals Manchester United.

Klopp hasn't discussed who will and won't feature for the Reds at Anfield on Sunday. But he has all-but confirmed Thiago could have a huge role to play against the Red Devils.

"To put the pressure a little bit off the situation I said we should sign Thiago in the window. Now he is here, let's hope he stays like this for a long, long, long, long time," said Klopp.

"The most important thing is he is fit and he trained. He had 90 and 45 minutes in the last two games. We will see if he can play and which position he can play because there are different options.

"But it is really good to have him around now. He is a really good guy and an exceptional football player. It is like a new signing."

Champions Liverpool go into the clash with Manchester United second in the table, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's meant went top with a win over Burnley.

A win over United would see Liverpool leapfrog their rivals on goal difference.
