Leeds eyeing transfer of ex-Spurs star who is now considered ‘next Phil Foden’

Leeds are one of a number of clubs interested in signing former Tottenham winger Noni Madueke, who has emerged as a top talent with PSV.

Madueke has impressed as part of the England U21 side at the European Championship, and is now being linked with a return to the Premier League.

The 19-year-old left Spurs three years ago for Dutch side PSV seeking a quicker rise to first team football.

Coached by Ruud van Nistelrooy at youth level before moving into the senior side, Madueke has 17 goal contributions to this season.

According to the Evening Standard, there are a number of clubs interested in signing the winger, include Leeds and Crystal Palace, while European champions Bayern Munich are also listed as one those that have “put feelers out”.

Madueke has been touted as England’s next breakthrough star amid his impressive season in the Eredivisie.

And Young Lions boss Aidy Boothroyd recently highlighted the similarities between Madueke and Man City ace Phil Foden

He said: “He's certainly a very talented young man, really excited to be called up by the Under 21s.

“A little bit like Phil last time, nobody had really heard of him until he came and played in the tournament.”

Reflecting on his coaching from Manchester United legend Van Nistelrooy, Madueke said: "In terms of my attacking work and goalscoring, there's no better mentor to have.

"He's helped me a lot with my goalscoring and my all-round play. He's very important to me. I speak to him a lot to this day.
