Manchester City are eager to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer. And, now, it’s been claimed the England international has agreed personal terms ahead of a potential move to the Etihad Stadium. That would be a major coup for Pep Guardiola’s side, though they still have to agreed a fee for the England international.
On Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast, Ian McGarry claimed City had thrashed out personal terms with Kane.
“Harry Kane obviously remains an ongoing project,” McGarry said.
“But it is our information at the Transfer Window podcast that Kane has effectively agreed personal terms with City and his representatives, and that they are simply waiting on Daniel Levy to agree the fee.
“And of course Spurs themselves are investing quite aggressively in new players as well, which kind of suggests that they know already that Kane will be leaving and they’re effectively strengthening their squad on the basis of the money coming in.”
So, with that being the case, Express Sport will now take a look at shirt numbers he could wear over at the Etihad Stadium.

There’s still a chance Gabriel Jesus could leave the Etihad this summer.
The Brazil international has been linked with a move to Juventus and, if Kane comes, he’ll struggle to start on a weekly basis.
So, if Jesus leaves, that would enable Kane to take the No 9 shirt.
While he dons No 10 at Tottenham, City recently attributed that number to Jack Grealish instead.
And it’s possible Kane will take the same number he sports for England if, as expected, he secures a move to the reigning Premier League champions.

The No 12 shirt ar City is currently vacant.
Last worn by left-back Angelino, it’s possible Kane will have no choice but to take it he joins the club and Jesus stays put.
It’s not exactly a glamorous number.
But Kane is unlikely to care, with the Tottenham star sold on joining City due to the platform they can give him to challenge for the biggest trophies on offer.
A shirt number is hardly likely to impact such a big deal given Kane’s eagerness to leave north London behind.

Strikers like to have a number nine on their back.
And with Jesus possibly staying, the No 19 shirt could therefore be claimed by Kane should he move up north.
Leroy Sane, Joleon Lescott and Samir Nasri are three players who have won the Premier League title with that number on their back.
And with Kane hoping to do the same, it could be a lucky omen.
If you can’t get No 9, you’ll just have to settle for the next best instead.

Kane did sport the No 37 shirt earlier in his career, during spells at Norwich City and Leicester City.
It’s also the number he wore at Millwall, too, and when he burst onto the scene at Tottenham for the first time.
Therefore, Kane may choose to take it on if he moves to City.
Throwing things back, sometimes, can be the best way to move forward.
