Man Utd fans furious with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team selection decision

Manchester United fans were left furious with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his controversial team selection decision against Liverpool.

The Red Devils are looking to end their rivals' three-and-a-half year unbeaten run at home in the Premier League in a massive clash.

It is an opportunity for the league leaders to increase the gap at the top to six points over the champions.

And the game saw Solskjaer make two changes from the side that saw off Burnley 1-0 to put United at the summit.

Victor Lindelof came into the back-four alongside Harry Maguire, replacing Eric Bailly and ending his run of four consecutive Premier League starts.

While Fred came back into the midfield alongside Scott McTominay, pushing Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial further up field to push Edinson Cavani out.

Having returned from a muscle injury over Christmas, Bailly has earned several plaudits for his performances at the back.

And his demotion to the bench against Liverpool sparked a furious reaction on Twitter from the United faithful.

"Solksjaer is a fool for starting Lindelof over Bailly," one supporter said.

Another commented: "One job! Start Bailly over Lindelof! ONE JOB!"

While a third suggested the decision would cost the game, with: "So it's Lindelof over Bailly – might as well just give Liverpool the win."

And a fourth added: "Ole's messing us up already – why start Lindelof over Bailly?"

A fifth held nothing back, with: "For f***s sake – mental selection process."

With a final supporter simply saying: "Ole is so f***ing stupid."

Lindelof last featured in the Premier League for United in the 2-2 draw against Leicester while also playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 Carabao Cup loss to Manchester City.

And a "top centre-back" was one of three positions that Gary Neville said needing strengthening in the January transfer window.
