Man Utd probable team vs LASK with Jesse Lingard poised to start at Old Trafford

Jesse Lingard will start for Manchester United against LASK but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists several first team regulars will feature.

The Red Devils will take on the Austrians at Old Trafford having won the first leg of their Europa League tie 5-0 back in March.

It all but ensures safe passage into the last eight of the competition.

Solskjaer would therefore be expected to rest several of his first team stars who will be called upon in the tournament's latter stages.

Lingard, who scored his first goal of the season against Leicester on the final day, will start in Manchester.

But the United boss insists he will not field a weakened side despite their huge advantage as he eyes success.

He said: “The players want to play, they don’t want a break. It is not easy to say ‘no, you’re resting.’ I hope the players need to win like I do. For me we go into the tournament with players wanting to win, and we won’t be giving them a break.

“Jesse will be starting tomorrow, but the team won’t be too different from LASK in March.

“(We are) Four games away from winning a trophy. The team has developed all through the season, delighted with finishing third but next step is winning a trophy.”

However the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes played five games in 17 days as the Premier League season drew to a close.

Sergio Romero has been United's No 1 during the Europa League and is likely to replace David de Gea.

Brandon Williams, who just signed a new deal at the club, is also likely to come in while January import Odion Ighalo is likely to get an opportunity leading the line.
