Man Utd: What's going on with Raiola and Pogba?
Manchester United will have the opportunity to sign AC Milan attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu in January, but only if they are willing to pay around £20 million, according to reports. The Turkey international is out of contract in the summer and talks over a new deal at San Siro have stalled.
Calhanoglu’s agent has supposedly told Milan it will take a £115,000-a-week offer to ensure the 26-year-old doesn’t leave on a free transfer when the current campaign comes to an end.
That, however, is far above what the Serie A giants are prepared to pay Calhanoglu despite his fine form in the post-lockdown fixtures and this term.
Manchester United were linked with a move for the Turkish star by Sky Germany at the start of the month, with “several conversations” reportedly held over a potential approach for the former Hamburg and Bayern Leverkusen playmaker.
However, the Reds are not alone in their interest. Juventus are also considering a deal for Calhanoglu while Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain could make an offer either in January and at the end of the campaign.

That is according to Pianeta Milan, which adds that while a departure in the winter transfer window is unlikely, Milan may consider letting Calhanoglu move on if they receive a bid in the region of £20 million.
Such a figure may be beyond United in January, though. Speaking last month, Reds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he didn’t expect the club to do much business when the window opens.
“It’s hard to predict what the financial situation is, if teams need to sell or if they have got money to buy. I don’t predict a lot of ins and outs, to be fair.
“The world, financially, and football world has changed as well, it depends on the injury situations are at teams.
“I feel very happy with my squad, we’re getting stronger.

“I still have issues every week when we only have an 18-man squad: who do I leave out? I feel we’re in a good position.”
United hope to welcome at least one player to Old Trafford next month with youngster Amad Diallo expected to arrive from Atalanta.
The Reds struck a fee with the Serie A club for the 18-year-old on the final day of the summer transfer window, and have since agreed personal terms with the young winger and hope to have a work permit granted in the coming weeks.
“Amad has come on a few times for Atalanta lately, he is a very exciting young boy and talent and hopefully we’ll get the work permit and he’ll be with us in January,” Solskjaer said at the start of the month.
