Mark Wright was named on the Crawley Town bench for their FA Cup clash with Premier League side Leeds United on Sunday.
The reality TV star was selected in the League Two side’s squad for the first time, for the game live on BBC.
Wright, 33, has recently re-signed for the Red Devils, 13 years after a first stint for the club.
And he has this week been joined at the club by brother Josh, following his release by Leyton Orient.
The reality star’s return to the professional ranks is being documented by the BBC in a programme called “Mark Wright: The Last Chance”.
The left-back signed for the club in December on a non-contract basis, having been training with the side for two months.
Coach John Yems said upon his signing: “Mark has been training with us the last couple of months and really impressed everybody in training.
“It’s taken us thirteen years to sign him back and he’s finally returned to Crawley, hopefully he can carry on from where he left off and I am pleased to have him back with his experience on and off the pitch, Mark is a great role model for players in the future.”
He was joined on the bench by Crawley’s 15-goal top scorer Max Watters who is returning from a hamstring problem and brother Josh.
Town manager Yems opted for just one change to his starting XI, bringing in left-back Nick Tsaroulla in place of Archie Davies.
Leeds captain Liam Cooper returned from three games out with an abdominal injury as part of seven changes for the visit to League Two Crawley.
Kiko Casilla replaced Illan Meslier in goal, with Leif Davis, Jamie Shackleton, Pablo Hernandez, Ian Poveda and Helder Costa also brought in for the Premier League visitors.
Pascal Struijk, Gjanni Alioski, Kalvin Phillips and Rodrigo were the men retained by manager Marcelo Bielsa.
