Mauro Icardi has denied claims he could be about to leave Inter Milan amid speculation Chelsea are preparing a move for the striker.
Icardi has garnered a reputation as one of Europe’s most lethal marksmen and already has six goals on the current season in nine appearances.
He struck a dramatic, last-gasp winner for Inter in the Milan derby at the weekend and will once again lead the line for Luciano Spalletti’s side at the Nou Camp against Barcelona on Wednesday night.
There has been speculation Maurizio Sarri is pondering a swoop for the Argentine, who could cost upwards of £90million.
But the 25-year-old insists he is happy at the San Siro – and reveals there was interest in his services over the summer.
"I do not know if everything that is published is true," he said. "I always say that I am very good with my family at Inter, I have no intention of leaving.
"Offers came in the summer but I have neither the need nor the desire to leave. Offers always arrive. At the moment I am very calm and I am focused on what we are doing with the team of which I am a captain.
"We are going to play in the Champions League and the offers will not move me."
Any move for Icardi would likely happen next summer, with Inter understandably reluctant to sell their talisman midway through the season.
His current contract is due to run until the end of the 2020-21 season, with Inter keen to tie the forward down to improved terms.
