Nabil Fekir is expecting to secure a move away from Lyon in the summer after missing out on one earlier this year.
The Frenchman’s aborted move to Liverpool was one of the sagas of the last transfer window, with the Reds appearing to have tied up a deal for the 25-year-old World Cup winner only to dramatically pull out of the move citing concerns over his medical.
It was believed that Liverpool were worried about the long-standing effects of a knee injury, but Fekir has still featured in nine games for his side this season, scoring in their Champions League win at Manchester City .
It is not known whether the Reds will step up their interest in the playmaker in the summer, but he has now been strongly linked with both Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Chelsea and German giants Bayern Munich.
And L’Equipe now claim that the Lyon star is already thinking of his future ahead of next summer’s transfer window, when he will have just one year left on his contract and is much more likely to move away from the club.
He has reportedly indicated that he will not sign a new deal, with Lyon preparing to let him go.
Should Bayern be looking to firm up their interest, Fekir will have a chance to impress a German audience as his side host Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Having overcome a slight injury picked up in a 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain last month, Fekir returned to the Lyon side for the Ligue match at home to Bordeaux at the weekend, playing 72 minutes in a 1-1 draw.
He figured in all of France’s matches during their successful World Cup campaign in the summer, coming on as a substitute in six of their seven matches.
