Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hails comeback kid Daniel James for ‘working hard, knuckling down and believing in himself’ as he rejects claim the youngster ‘disappeared’ after bright start at Manchester United
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has heaped praise on Daniel James after the winger made a triumphant return to the team’s starting XI against Newcastle on Sunday.
United moved back up to second with a 3-1 win at Old Trafford, James scoring the second with a good finish in the second half.
It was his first start in the top flight this year and Solskjaer believes he has been rewarded for continuing to work hard.

‘He has never disappeared, he’s been working hard behind the scenes, always been available, always a player you can use in different positions,’ he said.
‘He is learning the game and I’m very happy for him. We work with him, we try to help everyone.
‘Dan came from the Championship up to Man United, hit a few goals in his first games it’s bound to take some energy away from you with the headlines and media attention but he has knuckled down and worked to get that confidence to believe in himself. Now he knows he is a good player.’
